Fire Marshal

++Inspection, Testing, & Maintenance++

  • Establish and manage annual maintenance/repair plan and budget

  • Request for renovation, and issue a purchase order (P/O)

  • Manage maintenance/repair performance

  • Develop/Manage/revise the fire systems and assets operation manual and work instructions

  • Daily/monthly/quarterly/yearly inspections

  • Identify the root cause of troubles and troubleshoot. Prepare reports in case of abnormalities/troubles to manage history (if needed)

  • Plan to optimize operation efficiency

++Investment Planning/Management ++

  • Establish and manage annual financial plan, including operating and capital budget

  • Review construction drawings and make simple modifications (P&ID, etc.)

  • Author specifications for repairs and new construction, and including tender documents for bidding purposes

  • Request for new facility’s quotation, and issue a construction purchase order (P/O)

  • Manage fire protection investment performance

++Regulatory & Technical Support ++

  • Respond to regular court inspection on Fire Fighting facilities

  • Review, check and rectify such that the Fire Fighting facility meets local law and regulations.

  • Operational safety inspection and rectification

  • Provide guidance regarding federal, state, local, and consensus standards regarding fire protection, life safety, and related building codes such as ICC, IFC, NFPA, etc

  • Review fire protection systems and facility plans to ensure compliance, including during design and construction phases

  • Support inspections by Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and regulatory agencies

  • Author and provide guidance regarding facility fire prevention

++Audit Preparation & Response ++

  • Create and manage documents required by PSM/ISO

  • Take appropriate measures to improve and correct non-conformities specified by PSM/ISO

++Construction Management/Supervising++

  • Supervise construction / repair work (due to repair and / other requirements)

  • Request purchase of parts (purchase request)

  • Purchase order on construction materials

  • Inspect materials

++Training ++

  • Conduct and participate in training for Emergency Response Team personnel including live fire events

  • Travel as necessary for fire and emergency response training and conferences

++Drills ++

  • Facilitate evacuation and shelter-in-place drills

  • Facilitate and participate in “What-If” drills

  • Facilitate Incident Command, Emergency Operations Center, Communications Center, and Emergency Response Team table-top, functional, and full-scale exercises.

++Emergency Response ++

  • Respond to facility emergencies / all-hazards including fire, hazardous materials / WMD, medical, confined space, high-angle, machinery, severe weather, etc.

  • Create and maintain emergency response pre-plans (process fire, confined space / rope rescue, structure fire, etc.)

  • Enacts emergency response plans and general operating guidelines

  • Create, track, and enact contingency plans for fire water and suppression system impairments. C

  • Conduct post-incident/event investigations

  • Provide on-shift medical care under medical direction within the scope of practice.

  • Safely drive and operate emergency response apparatus

  • Available as practical for 24/7 call-out

  • Lead site emergency responders

++Supervision & Leadership ++

  • Provide for and ensure the safety of emergency response personnel.

  • As needed, direct tasks during shift for all emergency response personnel.

  • May serve as incident commander for emergency and special events.

  • Coordinate resources for personnel issues and support.

++Qualifications: ++

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, fire protection engineering or related field

  • (Preferred) NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS)

  • (Preferred) Fire Inspector III NFPA 1031 (IFSAC / ProBoard | NPQ / DoD)

  • Fire Fighter I & II NFPA 1001 or Advanced Exterior and Interior Structural NFPA 1081 (IFSAC / ProBoard | NPQ / DoD)

  • Fire Inspector II NFPA 1031 (IFSAC / ProBoard | NPQ / DoD) Hazardous Materials Technician NFPA 472 (IFSAC / ProBoard | NPQ / DoD) or equivalent

  • Instructor II NFPA 1041 (IFSAC / ProBoard | NPQ / DoD)
