Job Description
Bring your paramedic career to the beautiful mountains of Western Colorado! The Crested Butte Fire Protection District (CBFPD) is in search of an experienced paramedic to relocate to our small town with a relaxed lifestyle. Crested Butte is a mountain resort community located in the Gunnison Valley of Western Colorado known as Colorado's wildflower capital. Enjoy skiing, biking, fishing, boating and other outdoor activities while serving the public on a 48/96 shift pattern. Bring your family to our safe and friendly community, with only 5,000 permanent residents, exceptional scenic beauty, and an award winning K-12 school. The CBFPD has a 50-year history as an EMS-focused fire department that runs approximately 650 calls per year located 27 miles from the local hospital. CBFPD paramedics see interesting, but not an overwhelming number of calls. As a small department, you will be part of a team that meets a wide variety of local emergency service needs including ambulance transport and fire protection. Structural or wildland firefighting experience is preferred. The CBFPD is most interested in finding an accomplished paramedic with a passion for excellent clinical care, a strong customer focus, and a willingness apply firefighting skills when needed.
