The Genoa Township Fire Department is currently building an ongoing eligibility list for future positions for Entry Level Firefighter/Paramedics.

The Genoa Township Fire Department requires FireTEAM testing and the candidate PHQ to be completed. You can access the questionnaire through your candidate account. The PHQ must be completed to be considered further in the process.

++GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:++

A Firefighter/Paramedic performs emergency work in the protection of life and property. A Firefighter/Paramedic is responsible for the rapid and efficient performance of specialized duties under emergency conditions which may involve personal hazards. A major portion of the Firefighter/Paramedic’s time is spent in preparing to combat fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, technical rescue emergencies, and others as the needs arise. A Firefighter/Paramedic also performs routine work in the maintenance of fire station property and equipment. A Firefighter/Paramedic is subject to call-in at any time in the event of emergency.

Valid OHIO State Driver's License : Yes

Ability to Read/Speak English : Yes

Vision : Must pass a NFPA 1582 physical, including stress test and Ohio Police and Fire Pension Physical

Academy Certification : Ohio Firefighter Level 2

Necessary Certifications :

  • Ohio Firefighter Level 2
  • State of Ohio EMT-P
