Job Summary: Our Firefighters are to provide firefighting services and First Responder services for Xanterra South Rim.
Respond to fire calls for the Grand Canyon Village, investigate and report the incident.
Respond to medical calls for Xanterra properties.
Participate in all fire training sessions and be on call for firefighting responsibilities on Engine One and Two.
Assist National Park Service Law Enforcement and Fire Control Departments on scene, and follow instructions/directives given by the incident commander.
Maintain a professional working relationship with National Park Service Law Enforcement and Fire Department.
Resolve situations within your control and within guidelines established by Risk Management, Fire Department and National Park Service Law Enforcement.
Compile daily logs and write incident reports in timely and accurate manner.
Enroll, attend and successfully complete ongoing training classes as determined by the Fire & Security Captain.
Perform BAT and Urinalysis testing on employees per company policy as needed.
Adhere to all Risk Management, safety and environmental policies.
May be called upon to assist in the handling, storage and/or disposal of hazardous materials
Must maintain Fire & EMS certifications and refreshers as needed.
Complete an annual Wildland Pack Test to maintain Structural/Wildland eligibility (45 pounds, 3 miles in less than 46 minutes).
Assist F&S Security Officers as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Obtain Incident Safety Officer (ISO) Certification within two years of hire.
ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800 must be completed within six months of hire.
HazMat First Responder, and Operations certification desired.
Wildland (S-130/S-190) preferred, or complete within one year of hire.
Must possess a valid National Registry EMT Certification.
Must possess Arizona State Structural Firefighter I &II or equivalent IFSAC or ProBoard Certifications
Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License and comply with the Xanterra South Rim Company Vehicle Policy.
BAT and Urinalysis training must be successfully completed.
Must be at least twenty-one years of age at time of hire.
Ability to meet all medical and physical agility requirements for firefighters in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association Standard 1001.
Excellent written, verbal, and problem solving skills; plus ability to interact effectively with guests, employees and other designated officials.
Ability to calmly deal with medical, fire, or safety situations.
Working knowledge of radio communications.
