Leesburg Fire Department is currently building an ongoing eligibility pool for the position of Firefighter/EMT. This position requires a Fire Team and a valid CPAT through the National Testing Network.

Salary Information: $37,936.32 (Paramedic "Add Pay" $2.83 per hour based on 2,704 hours per year)
The City of Leesburg Fire Department is an I.S.O. Class II department that responds to approximately 10,000 calls per year. The department currently operates under 3 divisions: Operations, Training and Safety, and Inspections.
The Operations Division works out of four (4) stations with 14 members per shift. The Department provides advance life support through non-transport ALS engines, and fire suppression. 24/48 hour shift schedule totaling 2704hrs/year with a “Kelly Day”.

Valid FLORIDA State Driver's License : Yes with Class E endorsement, and with less than 7 points on the license.
Necessary Certifications :
- State of Florida Minimum Fire II Standards Certificate of Compliance
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800
- Wildland Firefighting S-130, S190, L-180
- National or State of Florida Paramedic Certification
- ACLS and CPR Certification
- Copy of State of Florida approved 16 hour EVOC certificate
- Veteran’s preference a copy of form DD214
- Signed and Notarized non tobacco use affidavit

How to Apply
Hiring Process : All candidates must successfully take and pass the Fire Team and CPAT test through the National Testing Network. Selected candidate(s) will be notified by the Fire Department based upon Fire Department criteria and subsequently invited to move forward in the process, which will consist of an oral interview and the completion of a City of Leesburg job application. Candidates are asked to NOT contact the City of Leesburg Human Resource Department or the Fire Department. Selected candidate(s) must be able to pass a medical evaluation, criminal background and driving record check post-job offer.
