The Fire Board and Fire Chief seek candidates with high integrity, an entrepreneurial spirit, strong organizational and management skills, and a commitment to excellence in customer service to serve as the District’s Human
Resources Manager. The Human Resources Manager will possess specific skills related to planning, developing,
organizing, directing, implementing, and evaluating the District’s human resource function and performance.
Successful candidates will minimally possess the follow-ing qualifications at time of hire:
• Bachelors' Degree in Human Resources or any combi-nation of equivalent education and experience
• Professional in Human Resource (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred or willingness to obtain after hire
• A valid driver’s license (WI by time of appointment)
Required qualifications within two years include:
• CEVO/EVOC Driving Training
• National Incident Management System 100, 200, 300 400, 700, and 800

The District participates in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) and employees have the option to participate in the Wisconsin Deferred Compensation program and short-term disability coverage (AFLAC). A flexible spending account and an employee assistance program are also available.
The Human Resources Manager works an average work week of 45 hours. These hours include regular office hours to complete their assigned duties and meetings relative to their position. In addition the Human Resources Manager may be called upon by the Duty Chief to assist with human resource related items as needed.
++Principle Duties and Responsibilities++
Responsible for evaluating, implementing, and managing the District’s group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances.
Responsible for evaluating, implementing, and managing the District’s Wisconsin Retirement System, flexible spending, deferred compensation, leave banks, etc.)
Advise, consult, guide, and lead the District’s administration team and supervisors on complex human resource and performance related issues and assist supervisors in carrying our their responsibilities and personnel matters.
Responsible for managing and maintain the District’s personnel records and reports, proper handling of confidential documents and issues, respond to various personnel policy and records requess from employees, etc.
Responsible for administering and processing the District’s payroll and payroll system which includes payroll tax reporting, payroll compliance, year-end reporting, etc.
Responsible for administering and processing family medical leave (FMLA) for the District.
Responsible for the District’s workers compensation program.

- Education: Bachelors' Degree in Human Resources or equivalent education and experience
- Experience: Previous HR Experience and/or Education Preferred
Professional In Human Resources (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred, or willingness to obtain after hire
