Job Description

Working a full-time 48/96 rotating shift under general direction, the dual-role ALS individual will respond to 911 dispatches for fire suppression and emergency medical services for the community and fulfill inter-facility transfers on the western slope, to the Front Range and neighboring states.

Responsibilities and duties include:

- Perform firefighting work, including preventing, combating, and extinguishing fires to save and protect life, property, and the environment

- Drive, operate and maintain fire apparatus and equipment appropriately

- Drive, operate and maintain ambulances and medical equipment appropriately

- Provide emergency medical care within scope of practice for 911 response and Inter-Facility Transfers

- Quickly and effectively analyze hazardous situations and take appropriate actions

- Participate in trainings, maintain certifications

- Upkeep of station, grounds, and related equipment

- Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Job Requirements

  • Age: 18 +
  • Education: ALS certification
  • Experience: Preferred, but can work with certified individual willing to learn


- At least 18 years old with High School Diploma or equivalent

- Must pass written and physical tests

- Valid Driver’s License

- Must pass a Background Check

- Colorado State Certifications for EMT Intermediate / Paramedic

- Fire Certifications greatly appreciated or willing to obtain
