Perform all phases of advance emergency medical service activities and maintain Washington State Paramedic Certification and continuing education requirements. Maintain ambulances and medical inventories, and follow EMS protocols as established by the Medical Program Director. Perform the job duties and possess the qualifications of a firefighter. Perform suppression, rescue, hazardous materials response, inspection testing and maintenance duties in accordance with NFPA requirements, as required by DOE Order 420.1. Successfully participate in and complete the Hanford Fire Department (HFD) Washington State Firefighter 6000 hours Apprenticeship Program, including off-plant class time at an accredited higher education institution.
Basic Qualifications -Possess a high school diploma or GED. -Must have valid and current National Testing Network CPAT and FireTEAM tests. -International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or ProBoard Firefighter 1. -National Registry - Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic -IFSAC or ProBoard Haz-Mat Awareness and Operations level certifications. -Must meet predetermined medical/physical fitness requirements. -Must pass an annual HFD physical fitness assessment. -Must possess/obtain and maintain a valid WA State Driver's License. -Must obtain Washington State Department of Health: Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic, within 18 weeks of hire. -Successful applicants must continue to meet all required certifications and standards throughout employment, (e.g. NPFA Standards, DOE Orders, medical, security, fitness, etc.).
