WORCESTER, Mass. — A firefighter is safe after being stuck on the roof of a burning house.

WCVB reported that firefighters responded to a house fire and found heavy smoke on the top floor of the home. While battling the flames, a firefighter became trapped on the roof.

"We were trying to get a hole in the roof because the fire had already got up into the attic," Deputy Fire Chief John Sullivan said. "One of our firefighters got separated from the ladder and fire engulfed that ladder."

The firefighter was able to use another ladder to get down safely.

No one was injured in the incident.
