Use your legs not your back

During one of our recent training sessions, we were going over ladder carries, victim lifts from floor to sill and other dead-lifting motions. One of the main points stressed was to lift with the legs, not with the back.

Despite this, there were those who defaulted back to using their backs instead of their legs. This can be remedied by fitness regimes such as such as dead lifts, power cleans or squats that focus on lifting with the legs. Remember, your legs have lots of muscle mass and are designed to lift, your back is not.
