3 Indy firefighters burned in apartment flashover
They sustained burn injuries to their neck, shoulders and hands while rescuing a woman from the blaze
INDIANAPOLIS — Three Indianapolis firefighters were hospitalized after fighting an apartment fire Sunday afternoon for burns they received as they were rescuing people.
The Indianapolis Fire Department says the fire damaged six units in the Laurel Lake Apartments, near the 8700 block of S. Keystone Ave.
Firefighters say a woman woke up with smoke in her apartment. Another woman jumped from the second floor to get out, but investigators say she is okay.
The fire caused an estimated $400,000 in damage.
