Payette National Forest Prescribed Fire, (Prescribed Fire)

For 2018, the Payette National Forest is targeting the areas of Bald Hill and Four Mile Creek on the Krassel Ranger District, Lost Creek/Boulder Creek, Brundage (Bear Basin and Meadows Slope) and Rapid River on the New Meadows and McCall Ranger Districts and Weiser River and Mill Creek on the Council Ranger District for prescribed fire. These areas are identified as potential prescribed fire areas; however, because prescribed fire is dependent on specific weather and resource conditions, all targeted acres may not be achieved in 2018. Prescribed fire is an important component of natural resource management and part of the comprehensive fire management program on the Payette National Forest.
