LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Fire Department Firefighter Sean McAdam, 49, died Wednesday, according to the department.
He experienced a medical emergency Monday while on duty at a firehouse, the Courier-Journal reported.
McAdam joined the department in 2002 and spent his career in specialty rescue companies.

He served with Engine 2/Truck 1 in downtown Louisville for most of his career but was recently transferred to Quint 7.
"This is a terribly sad time for the Louisville Division of Fire," a fire department news release said. "Please keep Sean’s family and all whose lives have been touched by Sean in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. The Division expresses our deepest condolences to the McAdam family and his many friends."
