MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. — A Michigan fire captain has died due to a medical emergency while on duty at the station.
Madison Heights Firefighters IAFF Local 1357 reported Monday that Capt. Jeff Brozich, 57, a 20-year veteran of the fire department, died in the line of duty. He was married to Madison Heights Police Officer Lindsay Brozich and is also survived by three children.
"Please keep the Brozich Family, The Madison Heights Fire Department and The Madison Heights Police Department in your thoughts and prayers," IAFF Local 1357 officials wrote in a statement.
Officials said Brozich suffered a medical emergency at the fire station, according to WXYZ.
The U.S. Fire Administration confirmed on March 3 that Brozich died due to a heart attack.
