EL PASO, Texas — A Texas firefighter has died after collapsing at the fire station during a physical training session.
El Paso Fire Suppression Technician Eduardo Ramirez was participating in a daily workout at the El Paso Fire Department's Station No. 8 late Tuesday night when he collapsed, according to the El Paso Times.

First responders and government officials from across Texas offered their condolences to the department and Ramirez's family on social media.
"RIP FST Eduardo Ramirez, thank you for your service. Condolences to his family and to his extended family and friends with the EPFD," the El Paso Police Department wrote on Twitter.
"So very sorry for the line of duty loss of (EPFD) FST Eddie Ramirez. My deepest condolences to the Ramirez family, the EPFD and the city of (El Paso)," tweeted Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña.
"Sending my heartfelt condolences to FST Ramirez's loved ones and the entire (EPFD) family," Congresswoman Veronica Escobar, who represents Texas' 16th congressional district, wrote on Twitter. "May his family find the peace and comfort they need during this painful time."
