Dear FireRescue1 Member,

Today marks the inauguration of Joe Biden as the 46th president of the United States.

As Chief Marc Bashoor explains in his article "Inauguration Day: Not your average year, not your average event,” the Presidential Inauguration is always a significant event involving considerable planning and safety protocols – but this year presented unique challenges for first responders.

We also consider the many intersections of the presidency, the fire service and the political forces.

Be safe and take care.
