Mich. EMT killed in double MVA
He was pronounced dead after a second vehicle drove through the rollover accident scene
KALAMAZOO, Mich. — An off-duty EMT was killed after being involved in a rollover accident, then being hit by another vehicle that drove through the scene of the first crash.
The driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle and rolled over the median early Sunday morning.
Four people were inside the vehicle, with at least three getting injured and one being ejected, according to WoodTV.
An off-duty sheriff and a nurse returning from work were at the scene to help the victims.
While tending to the victims, a second motorist lost control of their vehicle in the same area of the road and drove through the first crash scene, striking the sheriff, nurse and two of the passengers from the previous accident.
Trevor Stuck, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene after the second vehicle drove through. The other passengers along with the sheriff and nurse have all been hospitalized with two of the other passengers in critical condition.
The driver of the second vehicle has been taken into custody and did not sustain any injuries.
Ambulance company, PRIDE Care told WoodTV that several of the people in the first crash were employees.
Comstock Fire and Rescue said Stuck was an emergency responder and posted a message of condolence to their Facebook Page.
