JACKSON, Miss. — A Mississippi fire lieutenant who was shot multiple times following an argument about a car accident last week has been released from the hospital.
Jackson Fire Department Lt. Otto Love Jr., 47, was off-duty when police say Joshua Bingham, 21, accused him of sideswiping his car, according to WLBT. Bingham then allegedly followed Love home and argued with him before shooting him several times.
Love was listed in critical condition last Sunday after undergoing surgery. He has now been released from the hospital and continues to recover, his wife Tonya told WLBT.
Love has served with the Jackson Fire Department for more than 20 years. An online fundraiser has been set up to assist with his medical bills, and has raised more than $4,500 since last week.
