MASON, Ohio — An Ohio firefighter-EMT was arrested for allegedly punching a fire chief and police sergeant during a fight at a fire station.

Mason Firefighter-EMT Joseph Bales, 27, is accused of punching Fire Chief Bryan Brumagen twice in the face at Mason Fire Station 51 on Tuesday, and then punching Sgt. Jeremy Saylor in the face as he responded to a call about the fight, FOX19 reports.

Brumagen and Saylor sustained minor injuries during the incident. Bales was also taken to the hospital for evaluation and faces three felony charges — two for assault and one for disrupting public service. He also faces a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.

Mason City Spokesperson Jennifer Heft confirmed to WPCO that Bales is a firefighter-EMT at the Mason Fire Department and has been placed on unpaid administrative leave.
