170 firefighters called to N.Y. brownstone blaze; six injured

NEW YORK — Fire marshals are investigating the cause of a large fire that blazed last night in Harlem, fire department officials said.

It took 170 firefighters to put out the blaze that burned through the second, third, and fourth floors of a brownstone at 269 W. 113th St., fire department officials said. The fire department responded to the fire at about 4:30 p.m. and finally put it out at roughly 6:30 p.m., fire department officials said.

Six firefighters sustained minor injuries while putting out the fire, officials said.
