CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A 9-year-old boy accused of starting a fire at the Dollar General Store in Hixson has been charged with aggravated arson and reckless endangerment.

The boy, who is not being identified because he is a juvenile, started the fire shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday by lighting rolls of toilet paper with matches he found at the store, said Chattanooga Fire Department spokesman Bruce Garner.

He said the boy started the fire because he was mad at his mother.
