Allegedly stole Mt. Vernon truck as firefighters battled blaze

NEW YORK — A man accused of stealing a Mount Vernon fire truck as crews battled a four-alarm fire is due in city court today.
Fletcher Quiller is charged with second-degree grand larceny. He could land in prison for up to 15 years.
According to The Journal News, the 32-year-old told police that he drove the truck so that firefighters would follow him around the burning apartment building and fight the fire from behind the structure.
