KODIAK, Alaska — A squabble in which two emergency firefighting officers — one from Kodiak Fire Department, the other from Bayside Fire Department — confronted each other at the scene of an accident over the issue of command is now under investigation, based on a formal complaint filed with the Alaska State Troopers.

Bayside fire chief Bob Himes said he filed the complaint while at the scene of an accident Sunday, after he was pushed away by the city firefighter while giving aid to a juvenile who injured herself riding a four-wheeler.

The incident occurred about 7 p.m. Sunday near Otmeloi Way and Mallard Way when the girl lost control of the vehicle.
