Ark. firefighter dies in wildland apparatus crash

LAFAYETTE, Ark. — A wildland firefighter died on Monday after his vehicle crashed in Lafayette.

Arkansas Forestry Commission Firefighter-Ranger Chris Adams, 25, was driving to the scene of a fire when the apparatus reportedly crossed the roadway center line, entered a ditch and overturned, killing him.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

“Chris was a great young guy and a good ranger,” State Forester John T. Shannon told The Arkansas News. “God be with Chris and his family and friends.”
