Bouquet gets Fla. firefighter arrested

He said he didn’t think dropping off a bouquet of flowers would count as a violation of a court-ordered domestic violence injunction

SPRING HILL, Fla. — A Hernando County firefighter was arrested Sunday for allegedly violating a court-ordered domestic violence injunction.

John Nicholas Savelli, 37, of Spring Hill was transported to the Hernando County Jail and remained there Monday afternoon in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Assistant fire Chief Frank DeFrancesco said the agency was evaluating the status of Savelli, who remains a probationary employee since he hasn’t worked at the department for an entire year.

Savelli wasn’t set to return to work until Tuesday.

Savelli told deputies he went to the woman’s home and dropped off a bouquet of flowers outside the front door.

He said he didn’t believe that would count as a violation of the order.
