CARLSBAD, Calif.—Firefighters who put out a Carlsbad house fire say they found an indoor pot farm after the flames were out.
Police Sgt. Greg White says firefighters found Sunday that equipment from the farm had sparked the fire and called police, who seized about 40 plants and arrested a 33-year-old resident of the home on suspicion of possessing and growing marijuana.
A neighbor had called 911 when they had seen smoke coming from a window and a resident refused to open the door when they knocked.
Fire officials say the resident had tried to put out the fire, which was confined to one bedroom.
