FORT ERIE, Canada — A firefighter pulled a woman from an electrified vehicle Saturday night.

The woman lost control of her SUV and struck a telephone pole, sparking a fast-moving fire that trapped her, according to WIVB.

Power lines fell on the car, electrocuting the driver and charging the vehicle.

“We showed up on scene, the car was on fire, the lady was getting electrocuted inside,” Fort Erie Firefighter Robert Puttick said.

“I put my arm on the car, I got a shock and then she had to put her arms around my shoulders and jump into my arms.”

“She couldn’t have stayed inside the vehicle. We had to get her out right away. It was just one of those decisions you had to make quickly.”

The woman was taken from the scene with minor injuries.
