WENDELL, N.C. — A Clayton man died Wednesday when his motorcycle ran off the road and into a ditch.
The accident happened about 3:30 p.m., said Wendell Police Chief Joe Privette.
Christopher Caleb Eargle, 21, of 3801 Woodridge Court in Clayton, turned his motorcycle from Eagle Rock Road onto Wendell Boulevard, apparently at a high rate of speed, Privette said. The cycle left the road, flipped and went into a ditch.
Eargle died later at a hospital, Privette said.
