A Spokane woman awoke this morning to her hair on fire, caused by a blaze that started on a nearby nightstand. She escaped with minor injuries but the fire displaced seven from the home, fire officials said.
The woman was sleeping in a second-floor bedroom on a bed with her 12-year-old son when the fire awoke her just after 3 a.m. in the home at 2625 E. Hartson Ave., fire investigator Lt. Chris Phillips said.
“She said she witnessed fire coming from the electrical receptacle at the head of the bed,” Phillips said. “It’s obviously an accidental fire.”
