CLIFTON, N.J. — People tell Anthony Latona that he shouldn’t run for the City Council. But he’s not convinced.
Latona is a six-year veteran of the Fire Department, and the council controls the department’s budget, salaries and policies. Some say this is a conflict.
Latona has a quick reply.
“OK, where does it say that,” he said recently, “because no one’s been able to find that.”
