GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The Grand Rapids Fire Department responded to a blaze at around 5:47 p.m. Tuesday on Shelby SW.
The blaze took place at a residence, and the homeowner was taken to a local hospital, neighbors told 24 Hour News 8. He suffered minor injuries after inhaling smoke from the fire.
No one else was inside the house at the time, neighbors added. Three people currently reside there. They will be helped by the Red Cross, considering 75 percent of the damage was to the inside of the home.
