Maine firefighter killed in crash en route to call

Firefighter David Remington, Sr., was a fire service veteran of 19 years

SHAPLEIGH, Maine — A volunteer firefighter died Monday en route to a call in Maine.

Shapleigh Fire Department Driver/Operator David Remington, Sr., was responding to a motor vehicle accident when he lost control of his personally owned vehicle and crashed into a tree.

Firefighter Remington was ejected from the vehicle and passed away from his injuries at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Firefighter Remington, 58, was a fire service veteran of 19 years.
