BOSTON- Boston firefighters responded to at least four manhole fires in the city’s Charlestown section Thursday morning.
A fire department spokesperson says the flames may have spread to an adjacent building in the area of Bunker Hill and Sullivan Streets.
N-Star spokesman Mike Durand says it appears an underground circuit opened, which may have caused the fires.
Those circuits control the utility’s underground electrical system.
The MBTA says the fires are impacting the bus line that runs along Bunker Hill Street to Sullivan Square.
