NASHUA, Mass. — An 11-year veteran of the Lowell, Mass., fire department was arrested Tuesday and charged with trying to solicit sex via the Internet from a person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl, authorities said.
John Bue, 44, of 15 Sagamore Road, Nashua, was arraigned yesterday in Milford District Court and ordered held on $1,000 cash or surety bail, according to the office of Hillsborough County Attorney Marguerite Wageling. Bue was forbidden from using a computer or having contact with anyone under the age of 18, excluding relatives.
Bue was arrested following a two-month investigation of the Southern Hillsborough County CyberSafe Task Force, the prosecutor said. Bue believed he was soliciting a 14-year-old girl over the Internet; the computer conversation actually involved a Brookline detective, the prosecutor said.
He was charged with certain prohibited uses of computer services.
