FLINT, Mich. — Fire destroyed a home at 1078 W. Schumacher Avenue early Sunday.
An address mix-up on the 911 call at about 3:45 a.m. originally sent Burton firefighters to E. Schumacher on the opposite side of Fenton Road, which divides both the street and the jurisdictions, so both teams battled the blaze.
The house was a total loss, fire officials said. The rental tenant was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation, but no other injuries were reported. The cause remains under investigation.
