TUPPER LAKE, N.Y. — A volunteer firefighter was seriously hurt Sunday while battling a blaze here.
Firefighter Jeff Rice of Tupper Lake was in serious condition Monday at a Plattsburgh hospital, the Adirondack Daily Enterprise reported. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.
Tupper Lake Fire Chief Calvin Clark said firefighters battled flames for nearly six hours at the Adirondack home, but were unable to save it. There was no one inside at the time of the fire. A cause has not been determined.
