MILFORD, N.H. — A decorated veteran of the Lowell Fire Department, accused of trying to a lure a 14-year-old girl into sex, will have his case presented to the grand jury for possible indictment.
John Bue, 44, of 15 Sagamore Road, Nashua, waived a probable-cause hearing in Milford District Court, which sends the case to Hillsboro County Superior Court pending indictment.
Bue is accused of soliciting what he thought was a 14-year-old girl into sex via computer conversations. But he wasn’t chatting with a young girl. On the other end of the keyboard was a Brookline police detective.
Bue was arrested on May 8 and charged with prohibited use of a computer. He has denied the allegations.
He has been free on $1,000 cash bail on the condition he have no contact with anyone under 18 except his own family and that he stay away from computers.
Less than two years ago, Bue, an 11-year veteran, was one of three Lowell firefighters who saved the life of one of their fellow Jakes, earning one of the department’s highest awards.
