BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A volunteer firefighter perished in a blaze in his own home Thursday morning, authorities said.
Thirty-one year old Edward Marbet awoke at about 6 a.m. to find the suburban home he shared with his father and his fiancee on fire, said police Lt. Wayne Maver.
While Marbet was able to alert his father and fiancee, and they escaped, Marbet died inside the house, Maver said.
