Off-duty firefighter struck, killed by tree in Tenn.

BARTLETT, Tenn. — An off-duty Bartlett firefighter died Monday afternoon after a tree fell on him.

Brian Ball, 34, was working on storm cleanup, officials said. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital-Bartlett, where he was pronounced dead around 5:30 p.m.

Ball had been with the Bartlett Fire Department for 12 years. He leaves a wife and two sons, ages 2 and 3.
