Ohio firefighters rescue dog trapped in pipe

The Associated Press

CINCINNATI — Firefighters rescued a missing dog after a passer-by found the 100-pound animal’s body stuck in a steel pipe.

Middletown Fire Department Captain Paul Lolli says the Rottweiler mix named Lady had been missing for about a week, and it was unclear how long she’d been in the pipe.

A passer-by walking his own dog found Lady after the dog kept pulling his owner toward the pipe where the trapped pooch was whimpering.

Firefighters were able to pull the dog free after a veterinarian gave the animal a sedative and her body relaxed enough to be rescued.

Lolli says Lady appears to be fine.
