WILLIAMSTOWN, Pa. — A volunteer firefighter died Friday at a fire station in Pennsylvania.
Liberty Hose Company No. 1 Chief Driver Douglas L. Smith, 50, suffered an apparent heart attack as he was entering the firehouse to respond to a fire call in Porter Township.
He was a fire service veteran of 29 years.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, East and Vine streets in Williamstown, Pennsylvania. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the start of the service.
