PITTSBURGH — Charges have been dismissed against a Pittsburgh firefighter who was arrested over a bar brawl.

The aggravated assault charges against Michael Kelly, 33, of Lincoln Place were dismissed at a preliminary hearing on Wednesday in Pittsburgh Municipal Court.

Kelly and Allegheny County corrections officer Anthony Berger, 28, of West Mifflin were arrested in a confrontation in February inside Hideaway Bar in Oakland. A man and his girlfriend were hospitalized.

Kelly has been reinstated to full duty, Fire Chief Darryl Jones said.

Berger will stand trial on the aggravated assault charge. He remains suspended without pay, Allegheny County spokesman Kevin Evanto said.
