Union head trumpets kill switches

Emergency responders followed procedure when they left a fire truck idling on a West End street with no one inside, officials say.
“We always leave our trucks running. That way if they need it the truck’s ready for them,” said Alex Forrest, president of the United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg.
“There are no locks because, quite frankly, this is a very rare phenomenon.”
