FRANKLIN, Tenn. — There is a settlement in a deadly crash involving a paramedic driver.

David Cline lost consciousness behind the wheel of his ambulance in October of last year. He ended up hitting the back of parked Tennessee Department of Transportation truck on Interstate 65.

The crash killed the off-duty Franklin firefighter, as well as a patient in the back named Sue Bly.

The attorney for her family confirmed the settlement Wednesday but wouldn’t reveal specifics.

Cline had epilepsy, a condition that he managed with medication. An autopsy revealed that the drug wasn’t in his system when he crashed.
