EL PASO, Texas — Fire investigators arrested a Fort Bliss soldier accused of making a false report about a fire at a nightclub during the weekend.
Chad Albert Ross, 26, allegedly reported a fire at 12:35 a.m. Sunday at the Peoria nightclub, 3233 N. Mesa, near the University of Texas at El Paso. Firefighters evacuated the club but there was no fire.
Ross was arrested on suspicion of a making a false report, a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
Ross was released from jail Sunday on $1,000 bail.
