Volunteer firefighters on way to barn fire

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Two volunteer firefighters were hurt Friday night when their fire truck overturned on the way to a fire, KMBC’s Chris Nagus reported.
It happened while the DeSoto firefighters were on their way to a barn fire at and Evening Star Road in rural Johnson County.
A sheriff’s deputy said the fire truck flipped over on a curve, and both firefighters had to be cut from the truck. A man and woman were injured and treated at a local hospital. Both are expected to recover.
