McHENRY, Md. - Volunteer firefighters in Garrett County are mourning the death of one of their own in the line of duty.

Edward Wilburn was responding to a fire call yesterday afternoon when his pickup truck plunged into a ravine along U-S Route 219. He was flown to Garrett Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

State police say it appears the 64-year-old Wilburn suffered a medical emergency while driving. Police say there was minimal damage to his truck.
