The story behind a Wichita man’s death remains a mystery. On Thursday, businessman and fire captain Michael Vann was found stabbed in the parking lot of his brother’s church. Now for the first time, Vann’s family is speaking about the deadly discovery.
William Vann is the pastor at the Iasis Christian Center. He says the family still doesn’t know what lead up to his brother Michael’s death. Vann says, “The police have been giving us bits and pieces of information. It’s still not clear what really happened.”
In January, Vann’s funeral home was destroyed by fire. Authorities ruled it an arson. Recently things were going well for Vann. He was a popular and successful Wichita firefighter. He was going to be married in two weeks and his funeral business was about to take off again.
