NEWNAN, Ga. — A firefighter-paramedic died Thursday after responding to a structure fire.
U.S. Fire Administration reported that Michael Norton, 38, with Coweta County Fire Rescue, worked an early morning structure fire on March 1. Several hours later, he was found by his wife in medical distress at home.
His wife called 911 and responders treated Norton. He was transported to a hospital, where he died. The nature and cause of the fatal injury has not been determined.
Norton was a 17-year veteran. Funeral arrangements are pending.
