C4i has introduced new features to improve dispatcher ease of use, system flexibility, and first responder access with the latest SwitchplusIP® release. At IWCE 2010 in Las Vegas, (March 10-12), C4i will be demonstrating SwitchplusIP® release 2.2.
Already offering industry leading flexibility with true free seating and fully integrated telephony, the latest release adds the capability for radio users to dial specific dispatchers and telephone extensions.
Another new feature in SwitchplusIP® 2.2 is the ability to mix lower cost PC workstations with the full-function OIU based dispatch positions. The OIU, or Operator Interface Unit, provides the dispatcher with independent audio for two headsets, speakers, handset and voice recorder.
For security and surveillance applications SwitchplusIP® integrates IP video cameras into the dispatch position allowing camera selection and full pan-tilt-zoom control.
SwitchplusIP® provides a number of features to maximize system availability including fully duplicated LANs to ensure there is no single point of failure. The latest software releases provides additional features to enhance reliability and fault tolerance.
